Mission Completed

I think I'll have the little cans of Sophia Coppola sparkling wine at JFK, on sale in the Jet Blue terminal store...

I'm packing my bags and almost on my way out the door to the airport. I took my last test this morning and I feel pretty good about it. Thanks to all your best wishes.

I love you people in New York for showing me a fantastic time. Thanks and I'll see you soon on the other side.

Lost weekend

Actually it's the last weekend for me here in NY. In a few days I'll pack it up and go back West. I've done so much since I've been here and will try to cram what's left in by Wednesday. I never made it to the Mets or Yanks, or to the Hamptons, but I love it here anyway. I gave up baseball for this season since my Giants are taking the season off... This experience has taught me not to sweat the small stuff b/c it doesn't matter (ain't no time, got to survive, catch the train, find my way), and to be a little tougher so I can push back.

New neighborhood is killer, Stonehome Wine Bar in Fort Greene, Brooklyn is worth checking out. Where's the Columbian bakery though?

One more test to go and after that I'll have completed 3 different wine programs out here, then off to an attempt at making the stuff in Napa.

Just as the grapes are going through their final ripening phase, veraison, so am I. Sweetness is rising as the grapes are getting their color and ready to be picked to express their true, full flavor.

Napping in Napa

well this move is going to take some getting used to... feels really small in wine country versus NY. my meeting for my new job at the winery, was awesome. these guys are going to help me so much. they were nice, we drank wine from barrels, picked and tasted some grapes in the field... laughed and danced. i drove like 400 miles in circles, my phone fell in the pool. so today i spent most of my time getting a new phone (those phone people are worse than car salesmen and cingular stores ARE the gateway to hell), trying to rent a place and finally finding an internet connection. allegedly the motel was going to give it to me, but i'm now sitting in a cafe. ny people should not go on vacation b/c if they are like me right now, they would kill the rest of the world. from this i know i'm not patient (or know how to spell it) and i need a phone and FAST internet. still looking for a place to live. maybe a trailer in a field, or a one-bedroom house in napa. complaining about a possible 10-mile commute b/c i'm afraid of a dui... (joke) lady with the italian villa could be an option, but that would be like my south street place in steroids in an open field. generally looking at $900 a month and an 8 month lease. i'm finding it hard to commit... to anything.
