every night is new year's

I'm hoping to work this Sunday because every time I go out I treat it like New Year's Eve. I like to have Champagne. I am a noise maker. I wear funny hats. I always hope to kiss someone at midnight.

I quit MySpace

A restaurant reviewer/writer came in last week and I did my best to make sure he had a great time. He called back to get the correct spelling of my name. I think it was all good, but now I can only think about the weird parts of my conversation...

My girlfriends are going to Buenos Aires for New Year's without me. I'm working straight through the holidays. I have to research wines from that area to make a recommendation.

I got a care package from one of my sisters, and another from one of my brothers. That was sweet. I have a friend who's down on the holidays (who isn't?) and she said she wanted an I-don't-care package.

Have you ever heard of decanting champagne?

The holidays bring about a flood of nostalgia and make me think about the past (like what I was doing last Christmas) and the people I'm not with this year. I watched two sisters fighting on the subway, and my guess is that holiday stress was to blame... it really helped me feel better.

I quit myspace recently and not a moment too soon. I started my account in order to keep in touch with my niece Ray Ray, but I think it's just lame. Sort of like sake bombs, which is what the MySpace staffers drank at my restaurant last night.

if the corks are poppin, don't come knockin

So our white wine cooler nearly froze over last week and ruined about 3 cases of wine. As some of the wine started to freeze, corks were popping out and panic set in. Naturally, I grabbed a cup and headed straight into the line of fire.
